TEXAS ADVOCATE •

RoyLee Soliz (Any Pronouns)

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and currently serve as a Mental Health Counselor at an AIDS Service Organization in San Antonio, TX, where I provide trauma-informed therapy and mental health support to individuals navigating complex challenges, including HIV, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. With a strong background in social work, advocacy, and community outreach, I am committed to breaking down systemic barriers to care, particularly for LGBTQ+ individuals and other marginalized communities. My experience includes group facilitation, crisis intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure holistic, client-centered care. I am passionate about fostering safe, affirming spaces where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered on their healing journey.

“I am excited to join the HNP Advocates Program to learn, grow, and connect with like-minded professionals dedicated to making a difference in the community. This opportunity will allow me to expand my skills, engage in meaningful advocacy, and further my impact in mental health and social justice work. I look forward to collaborating, learning new perspectives, and strengthening my role as a professional in this space. As Audre Lorde once said, ‘Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.’"
