Baile Martin (She/Her)
Baile Martin is a woman of transgender experience from New Orleans Louisiana. Baile Martin is a public and motivational speaker, health educator, mentor, peer, and support group facilitator in New Orleans and surrounding areas. Baile became interested in HIV advocacy to help people living with HIV overcome barriers, access services, and find support in others living with HIV after being diagnosed in 2015 after being raped, through the support and opportunities made possible from that moment, She went on to create and facilitate trainings and content for youth, young adults, and HIV service organizations creating capacity-building services in client service, program development, program implementation, and communication and community engagement. In the last 6+ years, Baile has partnered with various organizations and public agencies to bring awareness to HIV/AIDS, and advocate for those who can’t
always advocate for themselves. A SUNO Knight, Baile received her Bachelors of Science in Health Services Administration and Bachelors of General Studies in Social Sciences Masters of Psychology and LGBTQ Health Studies from NYU Stienhardt. Baile is now a professor of Psychology and Behavioral Addictions at Delgado Community College, and an Executive Director of her own Trans led non-profit Trans AF focusing on Jobs Education and Housing with Sexual Health.
